According to Bloomberg, Apple’s AirPods and AirPods Pro could be getting a full overhaul in the next 12 months.

AirPods Gen 3 could be set to adopt much of the AirPods Pro design style with removable ear tips and shorter stems as well as improved wireless chips, presumably incorporating U1 so you can find the one in your jeans pocket, and hopefully not in your laundry. Think of it like the iPad Air – looks like an iPad Pro but without the top end features. Maybe they’ll even be named AirPods Air. I really hope not.
AirPods Pro 2 are set to lose the stems all together, but keeping their Spacial Audio, Noise cancelling and gain new features with their redesign.
These will sit alongside the AirPods Studio over-ear headphones in the line, but given the re-design of the third gen AirPods, could we potentially see a lower priced pair in the old design, maybe taking on the SE name? This is pure speculation at the end but it would be in line with what Apple seems to be doing right now, and perhaps the iPads could change to SE at the bottom end just to make everything more simple.
